Rajrupa is a vibrant name amongst the young musicians in Kolkata. This brilliant sarode player is vigorously working
with her sarode, playing it – dreaming it – enjoying it! Music lovers say that she will make it to the fore of
the current generation of musicians.
Rajrupa is regularly performing in the local music circuit.
She gets frequent invitations from the All India Radio [India’s National Radio Channel] and
Doordarshan India [India’s National TV Channel] to feature in their Indian Classical Music productions.
Rajrupa received intensive training in sarode, since her childhood, from the eminent teacher, Mr. Siddhartha Roychaudhury
[a disciple of Pt. Radhika Mohan Maitra and Ustd. Saukat Ali Khan]. She also received training from Late Ajay Sinha Roy
and Joydeep Ghosh. Rajrupa is currently taking special musical guidance from the eminent sitar maestro,
Prof. Sanjoy Bandopadhyay.
She is an MA in Music from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, India. Rajrupa stood first in her MA exams.
She is currently working on a project titled ‘An Analytical Study of the Application of Music By Satyajit Ray in
His Films’.
Rajrupa perfomed at the Calcutta School of Music’s Sandre Hall, on the evening of June 28, 2009.

Rajrupa is not currently available for regular lessons. She is a Consultant Faculty member.
